Dorothy House is a diverse organisation employing more than 350 people across our clinical, retail and support teams. We have a wide range of clinical roles from occupational therapists, healthcare assistants and nurses to doctors, as well as office-based support teams covering HR, education and research, finance, marketing, IT and more. Dorothy House has 27 shops and employs shop managers and deputies in each of these.

Nursing
As a Dorothy House nurse, you will be an integral part of our clinical team, rated as ‘Outstanding’ by CQC. We have roles based out in the community or on our inpatient unit. You will use a patient-centred approach to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. As well as co-ordinating care, you will provide emotional and psychological support to patients and carers.
Healthcare Assistant
As a member of our Hospice at Home Team you will be working in the heart of the community within the homes of our patients. You will provide end of life and palliative personal care and emotional support to patients and their families, ensuring that they benefit from care in their own comfortable and familiar environment. No two days will be the same in this rewarding role.
Shop Manager
Being the shop manager of one of our retail shops is a diverse and challenging role. No two days are the same, with responsibilities for the overall commercial success of the shop as well as managing a team, processing, pricing and displaying donations and maintaining health and safety. You will be responsible for the look and layout of your shop, using your creative skills and commercial eye to ensure the shop stays relevant to the community it serves.
Fundraising
As a Community & Events Fundraiser, you will look after fundraisers across our patch, as well managing key Dorothy House fundraising events such as the Midnight Walk and our brilliant Santa and Elf Run. No two days are the same in this people-focused, fast-paced environment. And you will be safe in the knowledge that every penny you help raise goes towards vital patient care.
Facilities
At Dorothy House we have a whole team of people supporting the clinical side of the Hospice. One part of this is Estates & Facilities. Made up of mixture of employees and volunteers, the team oversees the maintenance of the Winsley site and our 25 shops, manages catering for patients, visitors and staff and all housekeeping. The team ensures everything is well looked after and works smoothly, and are integral in the running of the Hospice
