Description
We are looking for a passionate Supporter Care Officer to join our incredible fundraising team! You will be someone who thrives on building meaningful relationships, has a natural ability to communicate with warmth and empathy, and is committed to delivering exceptional supporter care.
As part of our dynamic fundraising team, you will manage supporter communications, process donations, oversee donor data, and work closely with volunteers to ensure every supporter has an outstanding experience. Your role will be crucial in delivering efficient and effective supporter care that underpins our fundraising success.

SUPPORTER CARE OFFICER | £26,530 - £29,114 per annum
With a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills, you will take pride in ensuring every interaction is handled with professionalism and care. No fundraising experience is needed! - While we will provide the necessary training and support, the ideal candidate will be adaptable, eager to learn, and motivated by making a real difference.
Working in our fundraising team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and responding to public enquiries via phone, post, email, and social media, ensuring every supporter receives excellent care.
- Taking the lead in resolving complex or difficult enquiries, liaising across teams to find solutions.
- Processing and recording donations, sponsorship forms, and gift aid declarations accurately within our database.
- Writing and issuing personalised responses and thank you communications to our fantastic donors, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated.
- Supporting fundraising administration by managing data imports from online fundraising platforms, such as JustGiving and Virgin Money Giving.
- Generating reports to support fundraising campaigns and donor engagement strategies.
- Working closely with our Finance team to ensure a smooth and accurate accounting process.
- Being a Dorothy House representative, meeting and welcoming supporters who visit, ensuring they have a positive and meaningful experience.
- Managing and inspiring volunteers to support our fundraising activities and supporter care initiatives.
- Supporting the wider fundraising team by ensuring donor stewardship processes are effective and continuously improving.
- Keeping up to date with fundraising regulations, best practices, and sector developments.

HOURS OF WORK
This is a Full Time position working 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday (09:00 - 17:00). However, we also welcome applications from those who might be looking for Part Time!
The role will be based at our Hospice in Winsley, Bradford on Avon, with hybrid working agreed.
ABOUT YOU
Please Note that only existing Dorothy House employees / volunteers are eligible to apply for this role.
Essential requirements:
- A good standard of English and Maths.
- Confident using databases and Microsoft Office tools to generate and present reports.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating confidence in relationship-building with supporters and colleagues.
- A results-driven mindset with a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
Desirable requirements:
- Experience working in fundraising, customer service, or sales.
- Previous experience working towards and delivering revenue targets.
- Experience of working with volunteers.
- A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
