We are committed to a culture of development, progression and leadership

Our Education & Research team, alongside colleagues in HR, are committed to your development. From the moment you join us we will enable you to acquire the knowledge, skills and experience to fulfil your responsibilities and your potential. We have recently redesigned our management and leadership development offer to help build self-awareness and reflection, and our aim is to ensure all people managers are highly effective and have a positive impact on well-being, equality, diversity and inclusivity.

Induction and probation

When you join our team, you will be invited to a core induction; where there is an opportunity for you to meet some of your colleagues and our Executive Team.

You will also be invited to attend a clinical induction, where the focus is on the principles and practicalities of palliative and end-of-life care. This gives you an opportunity to meet with other new clinical staff to discuss your role and understand the values and the organisational structure of the community and inpatient teams.

Ongoing development

Our statutory and mandatory training not only ensures compliance with our legal responsibilities, but also equips our workforce to keep themselves and each other safe.

We are committed to your personal development. We create a monthly Development Digest, which brings together the learning opportunities you can access, ranging from role-specific training to a wide range of other skills you may wish to build on.

There will also be an opportunity to complete the End of Life complexities module run by Dorothy House in conjunction with the local university.
